Automatic External Defibrillator

It's been 20 years since I lived in Appleton. When I first moved back I had a good time just walking around and seeing how things were different from Miami and different from what I had remembered - which was next to nothing.

I kept seeing these signs all over town. When I asked my friends what they were for no one seemed to know.

It seems self explanatory as it's clearly labeled a defibrillator. But why are they everywhere? Is there someone about Wisconsin that makes the population more prone to sudden heart attacks?

Why are these so often located right next to a bar? Is there a connection?

Although in an emergency it is nice to know a defibrillator is handy, do I really want to general public operating one?

So many unanswered questions.

Face in the Tree

This tree lives over by St. Elizabeth's Hospital on Oneida Street in Appleton.
The tree has a very distinctive face. In person you clearly see the eyes and nose. The eyes seems to watch you from every angle. The face doesn't photograph well, but you can see it very clearly when you look in person. Do you see the nose?

Angry Aluminum Foil

I wrapped up some little buns to reheat in the oven. When I pulled them out I noticed the aluminum foil was growling at me.

Why so angry, Aluminum Foil? Oven too hot?

Easter Egg Tree

It's perfectly logical to believe Jesus rose from the dead causing Easter Eggs to grow on trees and then be hidden by bunnies carrying baskets filled with grass and chocolate.

What's so hard to understand?

The Blizzard of 2012

Our first significant snow fall of the season. We got to have off work and everything because the forecast was for blizzard conditions.

From my house things weren't so bad. Can't say the same for the rest of the Fox Valley as I stayed off the roads until everything was cleared.

The roads were definitely slippery. All day I heard the telltale sound of spinning wheels while my neighbors tried to get out of the parking lot. Not because they had anywhere important to go, mind you, but because they'll be damned if they'll let a little thing like snow keep them home.

Lynch Mob

Went to see Lynch Mob at Diablos Cantina in Neenah.

My beautiful husband.

I don't like it when chicks stand in front of me while I'm taking pictures of my sweetie but whatever, it's fine.
